YOUR FIRST COLLECTION

Start a clothing brand with better blanks

Keep the first collection focused. Choose a garment that fits your customer, make samples and build a repeatable specification before you commit to a larger run.

Start with the customer and the fit

Write down who will wear your collection and how it should feel: lightweight daily T-shirts, substantial sweatwear or active layers. Choose a few candidate styles and compare the shape, fabric and finish in person.

Plan the first sample order

Order core sizes in the exact colours you expect to launch. Compare supplier photographs with physical garments. Record chest, length and sleeve measurements using the same method, and keep a reference sample for later batches.

Check labels without assuming they disappear

Look for the supplier’s tear-out, removable or tag-free label specification. Relabelling can involve retained care or fibre information. Check what must stay with the garment and plan your own branding before decorating your samples.

Budget for the finished item

Your blank is one part of the cost. Include your decoration, packaging, labels, delivery, waste and the time needed to prepare the order. Use the Inc VAT / Ex VAT switch to compare costs, and use the final VAT-inclusive basket total for the amount payable.

Build a repeatable collection

Save your style codes, colours, sizes, sample measurements and decoration process. Start with a manageable set of colours and sizes. Availability can change, so confirm stock before advertising a launch date or taking customer pre-orders.

Find your starting point.

Compare garment photographs, fabric, weight and label details in the catalogue. Choose the exact colour and size for your sample.
